01 - Place sliced carrots in a large skillet. Add water, butter, and brown sugar.
02 - Bring mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until butter and sugar dissolve completely.
03 - Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes until carrots are just tender when pierced with a fork.
04 - Remove lid and continue cooking 5-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until water evaporates and carrots are coated in a glossy glaze.
05 - Season with salt and black pepper. Toss well to coat evenly.
06 - Sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired. Serve immediately while warm.
