- Set the air fryer to 360°F and preheat for 5 minutes.
- Cut the pizza dough into 4 even portions. Roll each piece into a circle, approximately 6 inches in diameter, on a lightly floured surface.
- Combine cooked chicken, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, Alfredo sauce, spinach if using, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl. Toss thoroughly to blend.
- Spoon one-fourth of the filling mixture onto one half of each dough circle, leaving about 1/2 inch border along the edge.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the filling for an extra cheesy, crispy crust if desired.
- Fold the dough over to form a half-moon. Pinch the edges firmly to seal, then use a fork to crimp and secure the seams.
- Lightly brush the tops with beaten egg, then drizzle or brush with olive oil to promote color and crunch.
- Place calzones in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
- Air fry at 360°F for 12 to 15 minutes until the calzones are golden brown and crispy.
- Let calzones rest for 2 to 3 minutes after cooking before serving to allow the filling to set.
