- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and facilitate easy cleanup.
- Melt the semisweet or milk chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over simmering water or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until completely smooth and glossy.
- Dip two-thirds of each pretzel rod into the melted chocolate, using a spoon to ensure even coating. Gently swirl to distribute chocolate and tap against bowl edge to remove excess.
- Transfer coated pretzels to the prepared baking sheet, leaving adequate space between each piece to prevent touching during setting.
- While chocolate remains wet, drizzle melted white chocolate in zigzag patterns across the coated area. Immediately sprinkle with assorted decorations and top with candy stars or pearls.
- Allow trees to set at room temperature for approximately 20 minutes, or refrigerate for 10 minutes until chocolate is completely firm and no longer tacky.
- Carefully peel pretzel trees from parchment paper. Serve immediately or package individually in cellophane bags for gift-giving.
